I am a graduate of the professional photography program at Algonquin College in Ottawa. Following a successful 29-year career teaching philosophy, I am now embarking on my new career as a photographer living and working in the Ottawa area.

As a visual artist, I’m interested in exploring people and their environments, capturing people doing things in their natural settings. Whether performance artists in theatres or studios (music, dance) or craft artists toiling in their private studios (pottery, painting) I want to reveal the authenticity of their art.

On the environment side, I want to explore the places where people do these things with a focus on the beauty of architecture and urban infrastructure. In the longer term, I want to explore the relationship between urban development and the natural world. I want to document the fragile beauty of the natural world in the places where human activity places it at risk, as well as the newly emerging integrated communities that seek to re-imagine how to live in balance with the environment: to tell a story that alerts us to what we are sacrificing while imagining a hopeful future.
